Jessica Fernandez is a Florida girl who moved to Laredo to fulfill her lifelong dream of becoming an on-air weather anchor.
Jessica Fernandez was born and raised in Broward County, FL, which is located in the Miami/Fort Lauderdale area, and is of Colombian and Cuban descent.
She has completed three internships with NBCUniversal - specifically with Telemundo - with two of those internships in Miami, FL and one in New York, NY. She attended Florida International University, where she earned a Bachelor's of Science in Communication with an emphasis in Broadcast Media and Television Production.
She is currently enrolled in a Masters of Science degree program in Applied Meteorology with Mississippi State University.
With her studies, she is on track to earning a Seal of Approval from the National Weather Association and the Certified Broadcast Meteorologist certification from the American Meteorological Society.
She is excited about joining KGNS to fulfill her lifelong dream of becoming an on-air weather anchor and inform the Laredo community.
