Power restored in north Laredo

LAREDO, Texas (KGNS) - Over 3,000 homes in Laredo were without power on Thursday afternoon due to a transformer malfunction.

AEP says the transformer issue caused the power to go out in several parts of north Laredo around the Del Mar area.

AEP says the outage did not have anything to do with the cold weather.

Police were busy all afternoon directing traffic at various intersections.

AEP says they do have crews working on restoring power and should have it running soon.

If you are still affected by the outage you can contact AEP at 1-877-373-4859.
