City launches new animal neglect registry

LAREDO, Texas (KGNS) - The City of Laredo introduced an ordinance last year to protect animals from falling into the hands of negligent owners.

If you are planning on giving away a dog or selling them, there’s a registry that is now available on the city’s website and you will be responsible to check it before you give away a pet.

The Animal Neglect Registry is already available on the city’s website.
It’s easy to access and it is updated every month.

Clarissa Rangel with the Laredo Animal Care Services says, “We get updates every month so this goes through the court process, and the court sends us a list on every month on the animal neglect registry.”

There are currently three people on the list.
