Border Patrol agents arrest Bangladeshi National

LAREDO, TX (KGNS) - Border Patrol agents with the Laredo Sector arrested an undocumented immigrant believed to be from Bangladesh.

Agents say on April 12th they encountered the individual after he attempted to illegally cross the Rio Grande River in south Laredo. The Laredo Sector Border Patrol continues to have the highest apprehension of Bangladeshi Nationals compared to other sectors.

Chief Patrol Agent Gabriel Acosta says, “It goes to show that our agents are arresting people from all over the world on a daily basis. Their intentions for entering the country illegally can only be determined after they have been arrested.”

Currently, the Laredo Sector Border Patrol has apprehended a total of 171 Bangladeshi Nationals since the start of the 2018 fiscal year.
