Border Patrol agents seize over a thousand pounds of marijuana

LAREDO, Texas (KGNS) - Agents with the Laredo Sector Border Patrol seized over a thousand pounds of marijuana during three separate incidents.

According to Border Patrol officials, the first incident happened on January 9th when agents were called out to suspicious activity near Anna Avenue.

When agents arrived at the scene, they found five abandoned bundles of marijuana inside a Chrysler Voyager near the riverbanks of the Rio Grande River.

The drugs had an estimated street value of $289,520.

On the same night, agents seized another 366.52 pounds of marijuana after responding to suspicious activity near Mines Road. The agents recovered five bundles of marijuana, which had an estimated street value of $293,568.

On January 10th, agents seized 388.6 pounds of marijuana after responding to suspicious activity near Riverside Drive. When agents arrived they found five bundles of marijuana which had an estimated street value of $310,880.

In all three cases no arrests were made and the drugs were turned over to the DEA.
