Cheesy Bandits: Two men arrested for stealing cheese from store

LAREDO, Texas (KGNS) - A father and son with a lengthy criminal history are arrested for allegedly stealing cheese from a local convenience store.

Laredo Police arrested 48-year-old Alfredo Alberto Alaniz and 27-year-old Alfredo Alberto Alaniz Jr.

According to police, the incident happened on January 27th at 10 a.m. at the Moreno’s Quickstop store located on the 3600 block of Jaime Zapata Memorial Highway.

Witnesses say one of the men tried to distract the cashier while the other stole the merchandise.

Police say about $138 packages of cheese was stolen from the store.
Detectives arranged for a photo line up and the employees were able to pick out both Alanis Senior and Alaniz Jr.

The two were picked up by police on February 7th after they attempted to steal from another store.

Police say Alaniz Senior has 38 arrests relating to shoplifting, robberies and thefts, and Alaniz Jr. has 27 arrests relating to thefts as well.

Both of the men were arrested and charged with theft.
