Starting on Thursday, TMC will no longer operate the Head Start and Early Head Start Program.

A recent review of TMC’s Head Start Program was conducted in April.

Among the findings was a failure by TMC to maintain legal and fiscal responsibility as well as proper accounting for Head Start Agency.

Congressman Henry Cuellar says the Community Development Institute will be appointed to operate Head Start Programs, but there will be a disruption of services until a transition can be made.

In September of last year, TMC was issued a notice of termination after a review identified management deficiencies misuse of federal funds and inappropriately allocating costs to the Federal Head Start Grant.
