(NBC) - Retailers are set to scare up a record 9.1 billion dollars in Halloween sales this year.
According to a survey by the National Retail Federation and Prosper Insights and Analytics, consumers are expected to spend 3.4 billion dollars on costumes. The survey also says that 2.7 billion dollars will be spent on candy and 2.7 billion on decorations.
Americans are set to dish out an average of just over $86 each.
If the survey data is correct, 2017 sales will be an 8.3 percent jump from last year’s sales.
