LAREDO, Texas (KGNS) - Local veterans and members of the clergy gathered for the unveiling of a new specialty license plate.
The plate is the result of a bill passed by Representative Richard Pena Raymond.
Raymond says he passed the bill to allow Texans to display our national motto and their belief in god in a meaningful way and to help veterans who have done so much for our country.
Two thirds of the money raised through the sale of these specialty plates will go to the Texas Veteran’s Commission, the rest is for the state.
The new plates are already available for purchase through the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles.
Raymond also mentioned that Texas artist Betsy Crum is the person who designed the plates.
Raymond is hoping the plates will raise millions of dollars for our veterans across Texas.
