LAREDO, Texas (KGNS) - Tommy Luna will spend the next 30 years behind bars.
After two hours of deliberation, the jury handed down the 30 year sentence.
Thirty-year-old Luna was found guilty on Thursday afternoon and the jury agreed that he acted in the heat of passion when he stabbed Cesar Moises Salazar three times back in March of 2016.

Luna stabbed Salazar in the chest and the abdomen.
It took the jury four hours of deliberating to reach the guilty verdict on Thursday.
During the trial the jury heard from several detectives who responded to the scene as well as DNA expert and the medical examiner.
Luna must also pay a fine of $5,000.
