LAREDO, TEXAS (KGNS) - The fall season is in full swing in Laredo and with that comes cooler temperatures.
Some local students at one elementary school got a special donation that will keep them warm through the winter.
The 111th District Court judge, Monica Notzon and her staff took time out of their busy schedule to surprise students at Santo Niño Elementary.
Every first grader at Santo Niño Elementary was able to receive a sweater with their name on it, courtesy of judge Monica Notzon and her staff.
Judge Notzon and ten of her staff members chipped in their own money to purchase sweaters for the students.
It's the sixth year the judge and her staff visit an area school and it leaves students feeling very special.
Judge Notzon says each year her staff reaches out to area counselors to find students who could really benefit from the donations.
