Salinas Elementary, breaking the mold?

LAREDO, Texas (KGNS) - After allegations that mold was found inside Salinas Elementary classrooms during the summer, UISD quickly shut down the claims.

Now after school has been in session for nearly a month, some parents of Salinas Elementary say their children are getting sick.

One mother says that her daughter showed symptoms of headaches and stuffy nostrils.

The mother says after a doctor’s visit she was told her daughter’s allergies were the result of mold exposure.

UISD says their classrooms are safe but also adds that mold was found on the furniture of two classrooms but has been cleaned.

Coming up tonight on KGNS News at Ten, we’ll hear what actions the mother wants the district to take.
