San Antonio resident carries cross for Sutherland Springs

SAN ANTONIO, Texas (NBC) - A San Antonio man is carrying a heavy wooden cross to honor those who lost their lives in the Sutherland Springs church shooting last week.

Miguel Zamora decided to make the 40 mile trip from New Braunfels to Sutherland Springs on foot to show a sense of love and unity.

Zamora is carrying the cross for the victims, the survivors and to make sure that Sutherland Springs does not grieve alone.

The good Samaritan has pushed the cross down each highway and each town.

Along the way, many have stopped to tell Zamora how inspired and touched they are by his actions.

Zamora says it’s the encouragement that gives him the strength to keep moving.
