South Texas ICE officers remove Guatemalan fugitive wanted for homicide

SAN ANTONIO, Texas (KGNS) - A Guatemalan fugitive who was wanted for homicide was removed to Guatemala on Wednesday by officers with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

According to ICE officials, on August 12th 27-year-old Alfredo Cortez-Damian entered the U.S. near Laredo and was arrested by CBP agents.

On August 23rd the U.S. District Court of the South District of Texas in Laredo convinced Cortez-Damian of illegally entering the U.S.
Cortez-Damian was sentenced to ten days imprisonment.

After completing his sentence Cortez-Damian was turned over to ICE agents.

On September 13th Cortez-Damian was flown to Guatemala via ICE Air Operations Unit where he was turned over to authorities.
