(NBC) - President Trump issued another stern warning to North Korea Friday, tweeting "Military solutions are now fully in place, locked and loaded, should North Korea act unwisely. Hopefully Kim Jong Un will find another path!"
"I hope they understand the gravity of what im saying," the president said from his Bedminster, New Jersey golf club hours after posting the tweet. "What I am saying is what I mean"
North Korea, meanwhile, is showing no interest in backing down from its threats to attack the U.S. territory of Guam.
State media on Friday called the U.S. "No more than a lump which we can beat into jelly at any time."
china, Russia and Germany are urging both sides to tone down their rhetoric and search for a diplomatic solution.
"It terrifies our allies, who are afraid the U.S. will do something unilaterally and they're the ones who will get hit," says Atlantic Council senior fellow Robert Manning.
One of those allies, Japan, is well within North Korea's striking distance and is putting defensive patriot missile systems on standby.
