LAREDO, TX (KGNS) - Law enforcement officers from both sides of the border took part in a special workshop to learn more about police techniques.
The American Consulate of Nuevo Laredo and other law enforcement entities held a binational workshop that would help officers in Mexico and in the U.S.
Agents had the opportunity to learn various ways to keep the streets safe from violence.
During the symposium agents were presented with different training that was available for both police officers and customs agents.
U.S. General Consul Phillip Linderman says that the new U.S. Consulate in Nuevo Laredo will have state of the art technology as part of their top priority.
Linderman says, “We have the most advanced technology in the sense of maintaining the security and the facility in bringing in our consular visitors.”
The officers who participated also had the chance to learn directly from the federal Bureau of Investigations, Customs and Border Patrol, The United States Marshalls and the District Attorney’s Office.
Officers also took part in a Q&A with law enforcement representatives.
This is the third time the workshop takes place in Laredo.
