Uni-Trade Stadium to Host Chivas vs. America Soccer Game

LAREDO, TEXAS (KGNS) - The Laredo Lemurs and the city of Laredo are hosting the two biggest clubs in Mexican soccer.

El super Clasico is coming to the gateway city, both Chivas from Guadalajara and club America from Mexico City will play at the Uni-Trade Stadium.

The game will take place on Saturday July 23rd. Both teams will not feature their current lineups.

Instead the team will be comprised of former players including several that played in a world cup like Ramon Ramirez and Fabian Estay.

Organizers say the friendly game will not be condensed as it'll include a full roster out on the pitch.

"This event is the first even in Laredo with the two teams complete.
There's going to be 22 players on the field. Of course, the field will be with the official measures from FIFA", said Victor Estrada.

The players will be signing autographs and taking pictures with fans at around four o'clock that Saturday, just few hours before the eight p.m. kick off time.

Tickets will go on sale on Friday. General admission costs $30 for adults and $15 for kids.

It'll be a great chance for everyone to watch footballing legends play the beautiful game.

"Ramon Ramirez is one of the players," says promoter Victor Estrada. "Fabian Estay. Carlos de Los Santos. They are players that not only played in their Mexican teams, but also in their national teams."

The players will be signing autographs and taking pictures with fans at around 4:00 pm that Saturday - just few hours before the 8:00 pm kickoff time.

Tickets will go on sale Friday.
