LAREDO, Texas (KGNS) - A local foundation made a huge investment to help create more opportunities for doctors in south Texas.
The IBC Foundation donated $250,000 to the University of Incarnate Word's School of Osteopathic Medicine.
The donation will go towards developing clinical skills labs for first and second year students.
It was also announced that UIW's School of Medicine will partner with Laredo Medical Center to launch residency programs in family and internal medicine and also establish clinical rotations for third and fourth year medical students.
Incarnate Word's Medical program will welcome its inaugural class in the fall of this year.
