LAREDO, Texas (KGNS) - A local veteran’s organization is looking to keep their fellow brothers in arms safe while they are out on the road.
The South Texas Afghanistan and Iraqi Veterans Association is starting a new program aimed at giving veterans a safe right home.
Organizers of the program say that if a veteran finds themselves having had too much to drink they can use the program and a taxi will give them a free ride home.
The program is modeled after similar ones used at military installations and is aimed at avoiding any tragedies on the road.
If you are a veteran and would like to register for the program or if you would like more information you can call 229-0265.
