Virtual kidnapping scams continue

LAREDO, Texas (KGNS) - More people are claiming to be receiving phone calls from scammers saying that a family member has been kidnapped.

Police are warning the public to not fall victim to these scammers who tell the victim’s their loved ones will be released if they money is given.

According to officials, those who are being most affected by these scammers are senior citizens.

Police are advising that if you do receive a phone call from these scammers do not give them any information and hang up the phone immediately.
