LAREDO, Texas (KGNS) - After months of requests, a Laredo port of entry is moving forward with an expansion project.
The ten million dollar project will be used to create a fast lane at the World Trade Bridge.
Customs and Border Protection officials say this will streamline international commerce through Laredo, eliminating costly bottlenecks and benefiting the local and national economy.
Back in November of 2016, the city of Laredo submitted a proposal for the project to customs and GSA, both agencies approved the project.
Now that the project has been approved the design phase is next, however the start date for that phase is yet to be determined.
