LAREDO, Texas (KGNS) - Fixing leaks in homes and places of business is part of a new campaign put together by the City of Laredo.
The City Utilities Department and Mayor Pete Saenz have proclaimed this week to be all about water leak awareness.
Statistics show many common household leaks come from toilets, showerheads and faucets.
According to Water Conservation Coordinator Diana Juarez, simple leaks can cost residents and the city millions of dollars: "For example, you're wasting 11 million water at home. Every leak counts, and its efficiency. You actually are trying to save more on the water, on your bill, and also from us to within the future."
Juarez encourages anyone who wants more information on water leaks to stop by the city's Water Conservation Program, located at the City Hall Annex.
