LAREDO, TEXAS (KGNS) - They are on-going problems not only in Laredo, but all over the world - hunger and homelessness. But a national movement is helping bring awareness to these problems and fight against them.
On Thursday, the Laredo Homeless Coalition held their 12th annual March Against Hunger and Homelessness.
A lot of people came out because they recognize how severe these problems are. But they also understood their responsibility of how they need to start helping to fight against it.
Over 18 local organizations came out to show their support and to bring awareness. They included students, social service agencies and other organizations who have helped battle this problem.
"This is just as a statement and a reminder for everybody that these needs are out there in the community," says Monica Bautista, of Laredo Bethany House Community Relations. "That we can all do a big part of the solution."
The KGNS News Team, along with other local media, were part of this year's march.
