No advanced notice was given to commuters about the raise in the price. Instead, drivers were advised with a sign at the toll booths advising them of the rate increase on Wednesday.
Drivers will now have to pay 28 pesos, up from 26. Motorcyclists will pay 14 pesos, up from 13. Buses will now have to pay 59 pesos. Tolls for pedestrians and bicyclists will remain the same.
This is the first increase in tolls bridge officials have made this year.
