Mexican Customs to Open More Lanes

NUEVO LAREDO, MX (KGNS) - Travelers trying to get permits to drive into Mexico may soon be getting some relief on the Mexican side.

With Thanksgiving around the corner, Mexican Customs are expecting an early increase in paisano crossers, and are doing this to keep lines from getting too long.

Mexican Customs officials have announced they plan to open the old Customs offices to help ease the lines of American travelers looking to get their permits to drive into the interior of Mexico.

So far, there is no definite date as to when the extra lanes will be open to the public, but officials say they hope to have them open within the next couple of weeks.
