LAREDO, Texas (KGNS) - Many are remembering the young life of Jose H. Trevnio, a student at United South High School.
The junior's classmates honored him on Thursday morning by leaving flowers, pictures and writing special notes on a memorial wall.
Less than 48 hours later many who called Jose their friend, classmate and student are paying their respects.
Even though the hallways were not empty, it was a somber atmosphere as students and staff continued through the week, coping with the loss of one of their own.
The 17-year-old died after a car accident that happened on Tuesday night.
Many paid tribute to Jose by building a memorial wall.
Flowers, roses, pictures and words all serving as a goodbye to the junior.
Coach Sergio who knew Jose since he was in middle school, said Jose was a very happy person.
Additional counselors are on campus as students and staff grieve the loss of their fellow classmate.
The campus and community continue to gather as a whole to console one another and pray for the loss of Jose.
The district reached out to Mrs Trevino Thursday morning to express their condolences.
They say his younger sister is a student at United South and will continue to reach out to her as well.
