Tying the knot may help strengthen your heart!

(NBC) - Tying the knot may help strengthen your heart!

A study of more than 3.5 million people found married people have lower rates of heart problems than those who are single, divorced, or widowed.

The researchers at N.Y.U. Langone Medical Center found the relationship between marriage and lower odds of vascular diseases is especially strong for people under age 50.

Experts say this isn't a reason to get married, but doctors who have unmarried patients may want to pay attention to other heart risk factors.
