ATLANTA, GA (NBC) - One of the American missionaries in treatment for Ebola is standing and smiling, according to her husband.
David Writebol released a statement Monday saying he reached the end of his 21-day quarantine watching for symptoms of Ebola.
On Sunday, he was cleared to travel to Atlanta, where his wife, Nancy, is under doctors' care at Emory University Hospital.
Mr. Writebol said the two were able to put their hands on opposite sides of a window separating them while she remains in isolation.
He says his wife is slowly gaining strength.
The two were serving in Liberia when she became infected with Ebola.
