MIAMI, FL (WOAI) - Beware of dog kisses. The urban legend that dogs' mouths are very clean is just that.

Scientists at Nova Southeastern University found evidence of Nyceria, a bacteria linked to STDs and pneumonia, after taking swabs of saliva from dogs in the West Palm Beach area.

They urge people to consider where a dog tends to lick and where they might have licked before turning to you.
