LAREDO, TX (KGNS) - In observance of Pulmonary Rehab Week, the Laredo Specialty Hospital holds a special session for those with questions.
The hospital had specialists who talked about remedies for people who experience shortness of breath or have any trouble breathing. Members of an adult day care were among the attendees who were educated on the matter.
Exercises were taught so they can prevent pulmonary diseases and prolong a healthy life.
"The community will gain from this," said Occupational Therapist Joseph Traut. "This is the ability to stay at home longer and truely understand what pulmonary rehab week is and what the pulmonary rehab is to the patient themselves."
This is the first time an event educating the public of pulmonary diseases has been done.
