The sport of boxing takes a lot of hard work and dedication. One local boxer knows first hand the amount of work that is put into the sport. He's dedicated his last three years to boxing and is now on his way to West Virginia for the Junior Olympics National tournament.
Hilario Vasquez will represent Texas in the 119-weight class in Nationals. Vasquez was able to win in the regionals and states and now moves on to nationals. The 16-year-old started boxing three years ago and says it takes a lot of dedication to get to this level.
The national tournament will be from June 10th-14th. If he wins in nationals, he'll get to g to Russia for international competition.
Vasquez is looking for donations to help pay for his travel. If you would like to help, you can contact Boxing Pride Fitness at 220 –2378.
