LAREDO, TEXAS (KGNS) -- While numerous hearings were held for our bag ordinance to get into place for the upcoming year, over in Nuevo Laredo, the city is ready to launch their campaign Tuesday.
City departments will be out in full force distributing recyclable bags to stores, shops, markets and more.
The goal is to cut down on plastic to become a more environmentally friendly city because officials there say bags clog up the city drainage.
There is no fine for those using plastic but that may come later.
At this point there only encouraging the use of and making available recyclable bags for citizens.
