(CNN) - The world is getting ready for Moon TV!
The Science Channel and the Discovery Channel announced Wednesday that the two networks will be the television homes for the Google Lunar X-Prize.
The $30 million competition challenges private companies to land an unmanned craft on the moon by December 31st, 2015. To claim the prize, the craft must travel 500 meters and transmit live pictures back to Earth.
The Science Channel and the Discovery Channel will broadcast the entire process from testing to lift-off, as well as live coverage of the lunar landing.
