LAREDO, TEXAS (KGNS) - A five-car collision sends several people to the hospital on Monday afternoon.
At around 1:00 pm, a call of an accident with injuries was received at Valencia Avenue and Saunders Street.
Police say a vehicle was traveling east on Saunders, when another vehicle traveling north on Valencia failed to yield the right of way from a stop sign - causing a collision.
The vehicle that had been going east on Saunders was pushed off the road, and collided into three parked vehicles at Obregon's Restaurant.
Police say the case is under investigation, but they don't suspect any criminal charges.
"Preliminarily, it appears that it'll be for fail to yield right of way at a stop sign", says LPD Patrolman James Boyd. "There's a few minor injuries, and a few people transported to the hospital."
A vehicle also went through the business wall, and a restaurant patron was injured from the vehicle impact.
Two passengers from one of the vehicles were injured as well.
Several of the workers inside say they were unnerved when they saw the vehicle approaching the restaurant.
None of the injuries appear to be serious, at this time.
