WTO raises forecast for volume of global trade

The WTO raised the forecast made back in September of 4.5 percent to 4.7 percent.

The Director General of the WTO called it "a step in the right direction."

(NBC) - The World Trade Organization, or WTO, has slightly raised its 2014 forecast for the volume of global trade.

The WTO raised the forecast made back in September of 4.5 percent to 4.7 percent.

The Director General of the WTO called it "a step in the right direction."

While the projections for next year can't be certain, the growth in global goods trade is expected to return to the historical trend level of 5.3 percent.
