NBC chooses Seth Meyers as next Emmys host

The 40-year-old Meyers, himself an Emmy winner, debuted as host of "Late Night With Seth Meyers" in February, taking over the slot of Jimmy Fallon, who moved on to "The Tonight Show."

LOS ANGELES, CA (NBC) - Seth Meyers, former Saturday Night Live alum, and currently the host of Late Night on NBC, has been tapped to host the 2014 Primetime Emmy Awards.

Meyers will host the 66th edition of the Emmys, airing August 25th on the Peacock Network.

The show will be telecast live from the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles.

Meyers is, himself, an Emmy winner.

Early Thursday, Meyers was also named by Time Magazine as one of the 100 Most Influential People in the World for 2014.
