ATLANTA, GA (NBC) - NASCAR driver Tony Stewart was welcomed by a large crowd at Sunday's Sprint Cup competition.

Stewart was met with a round of applause from the large crowd at Atlanta Motor Speedway just before the start of the Oral-B USA 500 race.

The race marks the first time that Stewart has raced since his car struck and killed fellow driver Kevin Ward, Jr. at a dirt-track race in upstate New York earlier this month.
