LAREDO, TEXAS (KGNS) -- Residents in the District II area will soon see improvements to a neighborhood park.
City officials and residents gathered for the groundbreaking ceremony for improvements to the soccer field that will be at Dryden park.
Councilman Esteban Rangel is the council member that oversees the area.
Concern from residents is what led to the improvements.
"We've had couple of groups of soccer leagues that played in that area so anywhere from 200 hundred kids families that will be affected and hopefully they appreciate a new soccer field for them to play," said Eddie Millan.
The project is funded by a community development grant received from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
