There are over 124 children in Webb County waiting to be adopted.

People are encouraged to consider foster care adoption.

LAREDO, TX (KGNS) - Judge Oscar J. Hale, Jr. is finalizing the adoptions of children into loving homes, during a ceremony in the 406th District Court room.

In Webb County there are 124 legally free children waiting to be adopted. In the South Texas Region there are 344 legally free children, and 6,140 statewide, ranging in ages from newborns to 17 years old, who are looking to become part of a Forever Family.

Each year, there are thousands of children that turn 18-21 and leave the system without families. Some believe that every child deserves a loving permanent home, and that is why they are actively encouraging people in our community to consider foster care adoption.

On Friday, we will celebrate the joys of adoption and encourage more people to create or grow families through adoption. People are encouraged to take some time on Friday, March 7, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. to learn more about adoptions and finding children a Forever Family.

The adoptions are scheduled to be finalized Friday at 11:30am.
