Candidates lawsuit continues after primaries end

Nine people are being sued by three other candidates in the March elections.

LAREDO, TX (KGNS) - A hearing is scheduled this afternoon in the ongoing candidates lawsuit, despite March primaries ending.

Nine people are being sued by three other candidates in the March elections. Two of them, Jaime Canales and Jose Valdez, Jr., are in the run-off elections this May. However, Valdez is a plaintiff suing Canales for discrepancies in his application to run for office.

The hearing will be held at the 406th District Court at 2:00 pm.
