Car chase forces two Laredo schools into lockdown

LAREDO, TX (KGNS) - Two schools are open again after being on lockdown Tuesday.

The United and Trautmann Middle School campuses, near Northwood and Lindenwood, were secured as a precautionary measure amid reports of a chase in the area.

The Laredo Police Department detained seven people evading arrest. Six of them were turned over to Border Patrol, and the driver was taken into police custody.

The campuses have since reopened.
