UPDATE: Child hit by SUV in Century City

LAREDO, TEXAS (KGNS) - New information has been released on Thursday night's accident at Century City Park.

It happened at 8:00 pm. The man was driving a gold Chevrolet Trailblazer. He was inside the car, reversing out of a parking space.

The driver allegedly hit a little boy by the name of Andre Villarreal, 4.

Villarreal was run over by the right rear tire. He was reaching for a bottle he had dropped on the ground.

Villarreal suffered multiple internal and external injuries, and he was flown to San Antonio.

The driver was at the scene. Police did not think alcohol was a factor, but they still took him to the hospital to administer a drug test.

A young child is hit by an SUV at a local park this evening.

A woman in the SUV was reportedly backing out of a parking space, at the park on Century City Blvd. when she hit a four-year-old boy.

The child was taken to the hospital.

Police couldn't give us the child's condition tonight, or the extent of the injuries.

No word on if the driver was cited.
