City Council looks to make rec centers more accessible to veterans

Council will also look into picking up items that are being dumped illegally in public areas of town.

LAREDO, TX (KGNS) - City Council members will be looking to make city rec centers more accessible to veterans, elderly, and the disabled.

Council members are going to consider either removing or reducing the fees charged to these groups for using the city's recreation centers.

Council will also look into picking up items that are being dumped illegally in public areas of town. Members have seen an increase in the amount of trash such as tires and old sofas begin thrown away in public right of way.

And finally, City Council will also get an update on the Plastic Bag Ban Ordinance that's just months away from taking effect.

The meeting is Monday afternoon at City Hall.
