LAREDO, TEXAS (KGNS) - A group of Laredo organizations that aim to help teens with substance abuse receive funding to help continue with their services.

Over $900,000 is awarded to the Webb County Court at Law II and SCAN programs to help reduce the problem of drug abuse in the community.

Both organizations work closely with dealing with hundreds of teens who suffer with the issue.

The money will be distributed to both organizations throughout a three year period.

The project will expand and enhance the drug and alcohol treatment services provided - along with recovery support services supporting substance abuse treatment, screening, assessment, case management and program coordination.
