Washington, D.C. – Congressman Henry Cuellar is showing interest in a new kind of sySTEM.
According to a press release from the congressman's secretary, he attended a special breakfast hosted by Harmony Public Schools, a charter school system in Texas that focuses on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). This morning's breakfast served as an introduction of the presence of Harmony Public Schools in Washington, with a new school of excellence being established in the DC metro area later this year.
Congressman Cuellar said that STEM is the future of job growth in our country. He wants to encourage more youth, with an emphasis on women and minorities, to pursue careers in science and mathematics. Cuellar said this kind of investment in education at a young age that lasts until college will create jobs and put American innovation on the map.
