LAREDO, TX (KGNS) - A local councilman thinks it's never too early to get a "Head Start."
District VII Council Member Jorge Vera welcomed parents of the Webb County Head Start Program to City Hall, where he gave them an introduction of the City of Laredo in general, as well as a thorough presentation on challenges and opportunities the city faces as a whole, and then specifically, issues regarding District VII. This is the fifth year that the agency brings its program parents to City Hall for a lesson on City of Laredo government.
“I really enjoyed meeting with these parents, and talking to them about the City of Laredo,” said Cm. Vera. “An informed citizen is the best kind, because then they become engaged in city government and can help shape the policies of the City of Laredo for all of their mutual benefit.”
