During a discussion in Commissioner's Court, an assistant county attorney told commissioners that they could volunteer to be included in the county's drug random drug testing system.
LAREDO, TEXAS (KGNS) - Webb County Commissioners say that they will participate in the county's drug testing program.
They made the declaration in Commissioners Court today.
All four commissioners and the County Judge say they will take part in the same random testing schedule as county employees.
During discussion, an Assistant County Attorney Ramon Villafranca told commissioners that they could participate only on a volunteer basis.
"A commissioner who voluntarily goes in would be the one to voluntarily submit [the results] to the media outlets," said Jaime Canales, Webb County Commissioner for Precinct 4.
The county's head of human resources, Cynthia Mares, said nearly all employees are on the county's testing list.
