LAREDO, TX (KGNS) - Judge Rosie Cuellar makes some announcements she thinks will better service Laredoans.
Municipal Court handles a high volume of cases, so in order to provide better service to citizens of Laredo, the Honorable Rosie Cuellar is adding a morning session in addition to the afternoon session. Municipal Court initial appearance settings will be either at 9:00 a.m or at 1:00 p.m, but citizens are advised to be here at the time that they are scheduled to appear.
Cuellar also wants to advise the public to check at the Laredo Municipal Court if they have an outstanding warrant or pending citations before an arrest may occur. In order for our citizens to take care of this matter before an arrest warrant, Omni warrant or Linebarger warrant is issued, Cuellar is offering an Amnesty program only from March 17, 2014 through March 28, 2014 in order to clear their outstanding warrants and traffic violations. This includes all cases pending, capias, warrants, capias pro-fine, Dps Omni warrants or Linebarger warrants.
It is very important that the public take advantage of the Amnesty program and check to see if there are outstanding warrants. After the Warrant Alert, Judge Rosie Cuellar will initiate a Warrant Round Up. If you have not made any arrangements an arrest warrant will be executed. Thereafter, the police department is going to be looking for all individuals regardless of the amount. Arrest warrant may be issued even for a single violation. We advise our citizens to comply with the law to avoid being arrested.
Our Municipal Court clerks can help the public with any information that they may need. Please call at (956) 794-1680 or come by to the Court at 4610 Maher Ave before the Amnesty program is in effect for information of the total amount of your fines and to be prepared with at least of half of the amount of the outstanding fines to qualify for this program and POSSIBLY to be clear the outstanding debt. However, it is a case by case.
