LAREDO, TEXAS (KGNS) -People came out to save a life by rolling up their sleeves and donate blood for the South Texas Blood and Tissue Center.
However, there is still time to drop by and give. The truck will be here until 6:00 pm at our KGNS parking lot.
All donors will receive a T-shirt and a mini physical.
If you are interested, you must present a photo ID, the last four digits of your Social Security Number and birth date.
"The importance of donating blood, especially for our community, is always important," said Eric Maldonado, of the South Texas Blood and Tissue Center. "With summer coming to an end, with school coming back, it's very important to maintain blood drives because students make up 28 percent of the blood supply here in South Texas."
As of 5:00 pm, the current count of blood donations collected was 32 units. The goal is 35.
Will the team meet their goal? Find out later tonight on KGNS.tv.
