LAREDO, TX (KGNS) - A process that has remained partially unchanged since the dawn of the Iron Age will spark some unique creations at Laredo Community College.
There will be a special workshop on Friday, March 7 from 12 to 3 p.m. in room 113 of the Guadalupe and Lilia Martinez Fine Arts Center at the Fort McIntosh Campus.
The iron pour workshop will teach participants how to create amazing iron pieces by using an open face mold to pour and shape molten iron. Hosted by the Visual Arts Department, the event is free and open to the public.
Art professor of Texas A&M at Corpus Christi Jack Gron, along with graduate students Al Johnson and Paul Seeman, will lead the one-day workshop. All iron casting will be conducted under strict supervision.
For more information about the workshop, contact the LCC Visual Arts Department at 721-5224.
